Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A suspect is on the loose and a deputy is injured after a pursuit ended with a single-vehicle crash late Monday night.
Lexington County deputies say the suspect reportedly kept driving when a deputy initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation on the 600 block of Edmund Highway just before midnight.
The deputy later crashed his patrol car near the intersection of Old Orangeburg and Pleasant View roads, ending the chase without the suspect in custody.
Although he was not seriously injured, the deputy was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
The suspect's car is described as a brown early 2000s Chevrolet Impala with a black rear bumper and no license plate.
