Richland County, SC (WLTX) — Investigators are asking for the public's help to identify one or more suspect(s) wanted for murder after a fatal shooting left one person dead in Northeast Columbia early Sunday, according to Richland County deputies.

Nakya D. Scott, 33, was pronounced dead at 3:28 a.m. from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Richland County coroner Gary Watts.

Deputies say they responded to the 2000 block of Faraway Drive around 2:30 a.m. in response to shots fired. After making their way into the home, deputies say they found a Scott with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Scott was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say there were several juvenile residents of the home present at the time.
