Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Dutch Fork Assistant Principal Floyd White had his bond hearing Friday after being arrested for drug charges on Thursday.
The judge set a $25,000 personal recognizance bond, which means White does not have to pay unless he breaks the conditions set in the bond.
White is charged with possession with intent to distribute (PWID) Marijuana; PWID cocaine; possession of schedule 4 narcotic – Xanax; and possession of schedule 2 controlled substance — Adderall.
Officers said on November 27, narcotics agents got a tip that White had drugs. Agents were then able to get a search warrant to search his home on Thursday. He was then taken into custody.
According to the incident report, Columbia Police Department and Richland County investigators said they interviewed a confidential source of information who stated that White was using and storing both powder cocaine and marijuana at his home. That source also said that White communicated with them via Snapchat and provided them a screen shot of a snap with the captions "your nose good?"
That source said that White would give them as well as other former students cocaine and marijuana when they came to his house.
White has been placed on administrative leave by the district as a result of the allegations. Officer a say Lexington-Richland School District Five and Dutch Fork High School’s administration have been fully cooperative with the investigation.
White's father and step-mother both came to the court hearing Friday, but did not make any comments. White has no previous criminal charges. The judge agreed with White's representation in court that he is not a flight risk since he has strong family ties in South Carolina and that he is not a danger to the community.
