Emergency Drill Slated for Tuesday in Forest Acres, Dentsville Area

If you live or work in Forest Acres or the Dentsville area of Columbia, don't be alarmed if you see a large law enforcement and first-responder presence in the area on Tuesday.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) — If you live or work in Forest Acres or the Dentsville area of Columbia, don't be alarmed if you see a large law enforcement and first-responder presence in the area on Tuesday.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department, along with other emergency services, will be conducting a training exercise in the area on Tuesday, July 17.

Officials say people in the area will see a lot of emergency responders and their vehicles when the drill takes place sometime on Tuesday.

As a reminder, move right for sirens and lights. When you see emergency vehicles with flashing lights, state law requires drivers to reduce speed and, if safe to do so, vacate the lane closest to stationary emergency vehicles, including tow trucks and recovery vehicles.
