Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A Columbia man is facing an abuse charge after he allegedly assaulted a victim while working at a health-care facility.
SLED says 56-year-old Charles Edwards Alston kicked and hit a victim with a wooden brush while working as a human services assistant at Midlands Regional Center in November 2017.
According to its website, the Midlands Regional Center provides residential care and treatment for South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs individuals with severe disabilities.
The center requested SLED investigate the incident after another employee reportedly witnessed the incident.
