Ladson, SC (WLTX) - An alleged gang member wanted for a Texas murder was arrested Tuesday in South Carolina.
U.S. Marshals say Franklin Platero-Rodriguez shot a man in Texas, then set a car on fire with the victim locked inside the trunk.
Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident Tuesday as he left a Subway on Highway 78 in Ladson. At the time of the arrest, he was in possession of a loaded 9 mm pistol and Ford F-150 truck, which matched the description of the car used during the alleged Texas murder.
The documented member of a violent international crime gang is also wanted by ICE on a 2014 federal warrant for failure to appear for illegally entering the U.S.
Rodriguez is charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and fugitive in possession of a firearm by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, who also named him as a person of interest in a home invasion on May 22.
