Columbia, SC (WLTX) — Adding to the list of 1970s classic rock bands back on tour, Three Dog Night will be playing Columbia's Township Auditorium on Feb. 21.
Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, with prices ranging from $46-$76 at Ticketmaster.com, 1-800-745-3000, and the Township Box Office at 1703 Taylor St.
The band, known for such hits as "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World," "One," and "Eli's Comin', " formed in 1967 and had 21 Billboard Top 40 hits between 1969 and 1975. The original line-up included vocalists Danny Hutton, Corey Wells, and Chuck Negron with guitarist Ron Morgan (replaced in 1968 by Michael Allsup), drummer Floyd Sneed, bassist Joe Schermie, and Jimmy Greenspoon on keyboards.
Negron was let go from the band in December 1985 after relapsing into his drug habit, Schermie died in March 2002, Greenspoon died of cancer in March 2015, and Wells died in October 2015.
Allsup, Hutton and Morgan are still in the band on tour and are joined by vocalist David Morgan, drummer Pat Bautz, keyboardist Eddie Reasoner, and Paul Kingerly on bass.
