MARION COUNTY, S.C. — Kilo, the South Carolina K9 shot and left for dead back in April, has returned training.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit made the announcement on Facebook Saturday night, saying "His endurance and accuracy are remarkable!! Thank you for your continued prayers and support!!!"
Deputies found the dog "mercilessly shot" after he ventured out of his enclosure on April 2. He was rushed the North Carolina State University for reconstruction surgery on his leg.

When Kilo returned home on April 9 to recover, deputies said he had a long road ahead, but he was is in good spirits and they hoped he would be back on the team by the end of the year.
Kilo's story touched the hearts of thousands, and cards, packages and donations were sent in from around the country.
