KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — A man died after being thrown from his motorcycle in Kershaw County. 

The motorcycle accident happened in Kershaw County Friday night on Flat Rock Road. The call came into 911 a little after 9 p.m. on July 19.

According to the report, two motorcycles were headed east coming toward Camden when one of them hit a deer. The motorcycle that was following ran into the lead motorcycle. Both riders were thrown from their motorcycles. 

The man riding the second motorcycle was 64-year-old Jackie (Wolf) Hopkins. Hopkins had massive head and upper body injures and was transported to Kershaw Health and then later transported to Prisma Health Richland, according to the Kershaw County. He was pronounced dead this morning at 11:33 a.m. Hopkins was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson and was not wearing a helmet.  

There are no updates about the other motorcyclist at this time.
