COLUMBIA, S.C. — A 20-year-old man is dead after drowning in a swimming pool at a Columbia apartment complex.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says Keshawn Deion Parker of Columbia died after an incident at the Hunters Ridge Apartments on Springhouse Drive Tuesday night.

According to Watts, Parker jumped into the pool at 8:50 p.m.. After experiencing some type of difficulty, Parker had to be pulled from the pool. He was then taken to Lexington Medical Center where he died at 9:45 p.m.
