Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A man ran away after injuring a woman during an alleged criminal sexual assault. Now, Richland County deputies are looking for the suspect.

A security officer was walking along the 1000 block of Elmwood Avenue when he heard a woman in distress around 1 a.m. November 3. Deputies say the victim was found partially dressed with the male suspect choking her. However, when the guard approached, he fled the scene.

The victim was treated for multiple injuries, including a broken nose and swollen eyes. She has since been released from a local hospital.

The suspect is described as being a black male between the ages of 45-50, about 6 feet tall weighing about 120 pounds. He was also last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, gray shoes and white and blue knit cap with orange and red trim.
