BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — A Michigan man spent almost 7 years on the run for alleged sex crimes, but it all came to an end with a South Carolina arrest this week.

Muhammed Baldeh, 29, has been wanted on forcible sexual assault and sodomy of a child under the age of 10 since July of 2012.

A tip lead Berkeley County deputies to find that Baldeh had been living and working in the Moncks Corner area. He was arrested without incident Tuesday, which just happened to be his birthday.

Deputies did not provide any details on the case in order to protect the victim and ongoing investigation.

Baldeh is now awaiting extradition to Michigan at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
