No 'Obvious' Signs of Foul Play in Death of Missing Woman, Coroner Says

The victim, identified as Kyrstin Star Blackburn, was found near Platt Springs Road on June 1.

Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A preliminary autopsy indicates foul play was not an "obvious" factor in the death of a woman who was found dead in a wooded area in Lexington County after being reported missing.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Kyrstin Star Blackburn, was found near Platt Springs Road Friday.

The Lexington County Coroner's Office says Blackburn's cause of death is pending further studies, including a toxicology test. A preliminary autopsy performed Saturday reportedly indicated no obvious indications of foul play.

Lexington County deputies say they opened a missing person's case for Blackburn on Tuesday.

Officers say right now, they're looking to determine if her death was a criminal act or natural causes. They say they'll use the coroner's report to determine that.

No arrests have been made in connection to the case.
