Recognizing Breast Cancer through Beauty

HairWalk: The Movement is a three part event charity fundraiser that includes the HeadHunterz Competition for student stylists and Pink Tie Charity Auction for men affected by cancer.

Columbia, SC (WLTX)-- HairWalk: The Movement is a three part event charity fundraiser that includes the HeadHunterz Competition for student stylists and Pink Tie Charity Auction for men affected by cancer.

The premiere event is the HairWalk: The Movement runway show showcasing designers, major retail brands, stylists, models and more.

Highlighting the runway show is a "survivors walk" when cancer survivors proudly strut the runway in celebration of overcoming cancer.

HairWalk: The Movement was founded by Alisa Barnes, a well-established Columbia hair stylist and salon boutique owner.

The HairWalk: The Movement team consists of a team of volunteers from across the fashion, beauty, retail and nonprofit sectors who are committed to raising awareness about the impact of cancer.

Victor De Leon is a world class stylist who is leading the team working this year.

He's worked behind the scenes for MTV, the Grammy's and Emmy's.

More than 50 Breast Cancer Survivors will participate in the Runway Show on October 3, 2014 at the Columbia Convention Center to celebrate overcoming cancer.

Last year more than $5000 was donated to South Carolina Oncology Associates and Palmetto Health Foundation for continued research and support of survivors.
