Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Hundreds of people were at Congressman Jim Clyburn's "World Famous Fish Fry" Friday night.
The event took place at the Coble Plaza behind EdVenture Museum.
According to Clyburn, the fish fry started as a thank you to his supporters.
The event has grown over the last 20 years and people throughout the Midlands come to enjoy fried Whitetail Fish. Organizers said they served over 1000 pounds of fish Friday night. The event takes place during the same time as the Democratic Blue Ribbon Dinner.
Democratic leaders often attend the fish fry after the fundraising event.
