Police seize more than two dozen dogs in animal abuse investigation

More than 2 dozen dogs have been seized at an Horry County home.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — Horry County police say they have seized more than two dozen dogs while executing a search warrant in Loris on Wednesday.

Police said they were executing a search warrant at a home off of Cane Branch Road near the Loris area related to an ongoing animal abuse investigation just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

As of noon, the scene was still active. Police are asking community members to avoid the area. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as they become available.
