Richland County investigator fired after arrest for DUI

Officials say the deputy was arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol for DUI on Monticello Road on Sunday.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — An investigator with the Richland County Sheriff's Department was fired Sunday after an arrest for DUI, according to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.

Officials said Robert Crane was terminated following his arrest on Sunday. Deputies say Crane was arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol for DUI on Monticello Road.

Crane had been with the Sheriff’s Department since October 1997, and was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division.
