COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Board of Richland County Voter Registration & Elections announced that interim director Dr. Thad Hall will be leaving at the end of July to accept a similar position in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Hall had been in the director's position since May, after the Board fired his boss, Rokey Suleman.
The move will allow Hall to be closer to his family in nearby Salt Lake City, Utah, where he has a son in high school.
The Board will vote to formalize a job description for the director's position during a called meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in the Fourth Floor Conference Room at 2020 Hampton Street.
According to the Richland County website, "The Board has confidence in the existing management team and their ability to work collaboratively as the County prepares for municipal elections in November 2019 and for the 2020 election season."
