Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have arrested a Richland County deputy after doctors found bruises on the officer's stepson.

Brandon Robins, 45, is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said on Monday, Lexington deputies went to Lexington Medical Center after doctors alerted them of a potential problem. The sheriff says the victim had an appointment with a doctor there, and during the observation, the physician reported finding bruises on the boy's lower body. The hospital then called law enforcement.

Lott said Robins has been placed on suspension without pay pending an internal review. He was booked at the Lexington County Jail.
