Richland One, Lexington One Offer Free Summer Meals for Children

Local school districts are offering free, healthy meals to children throughout the summer months.

Richland School District and Lexington School District One are once again offering children free meals this summer in conjunction with the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

Richland One

From June 11 through August 2, meals will be available at designated schools throughout the district:

  • A.C. Flora High School: M,T,W,TH from 7 - 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Bradley Elementary School: M,T,W,TH,F from 7 - 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
  • Burton-Pack Elementary School: M,T,W,TH,F from 7-8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • C.A. Johnson High School: M,T,W,TH from 7 - 8:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Carver-Lyon Elementary School: M,T,W,TH 7:30 - 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
  • Columbia High School M,T,W,TH

Any child is welcome to go to one of the schools for a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost to them or their parents. Children simply go to any of the designated sites and ask for a meal.

Churches, community centers and other nonprofit organizations that provide a summer camp or program for children are encouraged to take the children to one of the designated school sites for a meal. A list of the designated sites will be posted on the district's website, www.richlandone.org. The list will be updated as more sites are added.

Lexington One

In Lexington District One, meals will be available Monday through Thursday, June 11- July 26, 2018, with the exception of Wednesday, July 4 at the following locations:

  • Forts Pond Elementary: 7350 Fish Hatchery Road, Pelion (803) 821-2500
  • River Bluff High: 320 Corley Mill Road, Lexington (803) 821-0700;
  • Rosenwald Community Learning Center: 420 Hendrix Street, Lexington (803) 821-1300
  • White Knoll Elementary: 132 White Knoll Way, West Columbia (803) 821-4500.

Children must eat their meals on site.

Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m., while lunch begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.

Sites offer meals on a first-come, first-served basis.
