SC Lottery Still Investigating Christmas Day Mishap

This involves the glitch on Christmas Day that said nearly everyone who played one particular game was a winner.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - That Christmas Day gaming glitch that left thousands of people upset has no new update.

The South Carolina Education Lottery says that the computer system experienced a programming error on Christmas Day that affected "Holiday Cash Add-A-Play" tickets.

To win, players had to get three Christmas trees in any line, but a glitch caused the tickets to print out too many trees, which basically made everyone a winner.

The lottery says that they cannot pay out winnings earned because of an error.

The lottery is working with the Gaming Laboratories International to help determine if they will pay out the winnings, about $33 million dollars.

The lottery commission has not set a time to meet again on this matter.
