LEXINGTON, S.C. — People in the Lexington community are concerned about safety at an intersection on Corley Mill Road.

A viewer messaged our Street Squad Lexington Facebook page because they want to see changes to the intersection of Corley Mill Road and Riverchase Way. The intersection is within a couple of a hundred feet of Sunset Blvd.

The viewer says it takes forever to turn at the intersection because of traffic flying from Sunset Blvd onto Corley Mill Road. Traffic tends to back up at the intersection, especially during the school year and rush-hour traffic.

Another reason this viewer is concerned is because there is a fire department nearby. They say with traffic being backed up, it may impact the fire department from getting to wherever they are being called to quicker.

During the Town of Lexington’s State of the Town address, Mayor Steve MacDougall announced improvements to the roads around that area.

Street Squad Lexington wanted to bring their concerns to those in charge. News 19 called the Town of Lexington but have not heard anything back at this time.

Street Squad Lexington will continue to follow and reach out to officials to find out if changes will be coming to this intersection.
