Looking to meet a local author? 25 of them will be at an Irmo library this weekend

You have a chance to meet your favorite local author at the Irmo Branch Library Palmetto Scribe event

IRMO, S.C. — The Irmo Branch Library always has exciting things going on. This Saturday, their event may give you the opportunity to meet your favorite author.

The Palmetto Scribe event will host 25 local authors. Each of them will be at a table with books to sign and sell.

“We also have a dulcimer musician, we have raffle prizes, and one thing we’re really excited about is we are going to be presenting a check to the palmetto scribe short story writing competition winner,” Kate Barry, a library assistant, tells us.

This competition was hosted by the Irmo Branch Library for Richland and Lexington District 5 11th and 12th graders, encouraging creativity and original work. The winner will receive a $500 prize.

Palmetto Scribe is this Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Irmo Branch Public Library.
