WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — The City of West Columbia has proposed some changes to their sign ordinances and want some feedback from the community.
Street Squad chatted with Director of Planning and Zoning Wayne Shuler about the details:
“What we’ve identified is some pitfalls within the current ordinance and so we’ve got some proposed changes. We’re seeking input from the business community on how those changes will impact them… if we need to make some adjustments to those proposals. What we’re trying to do is be more flexible to the business community while at the same time upholding our aesthetic and community standards.”
Shuler says the proposal is viewable here on their website. He welcomes feedback by phone or email. There will also be two public meetings at City Hall on July 23, one from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and one from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
