ORANGEBURG, S.C. — On July 1st residents in Orangeburg county will see the beginning of a consolidation that will bring together school districts 3,4 and 5.

The school board met Tuesday night and approved a starting teacher salary of $35,000. --that's for new hires to the district.

They meeting green lighted three administrators and approved a dozen new teachers coming on board.

 For at least the first year, the consolidation will be more paper and organization based and will not change the locations of where students attend school.

 Dr. Zona Jefferson, will be stepping down as interim superintendent and Dr. Darrell Johnson will assume the role come July 1st.
