Willie Odom, who is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and helped organize the event, says placing the wreath on the marker is a great tribute to Dr. King.

"This a tribute to what he stood for as far as Human Rights, integration, freedom and justice for all mankind, and this is an excellent time and excellent spot to do that on holiday that honors his legacy." Odom said.
