ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A third suspect has been arrested in an incident that left a man beaten and robbed.

The incident happened last month on April 18 when the suspects reportedly beat the victim with a golf club, then stole cash and several firearms from his Lin Drive home.

And it all began as a favor for one of the suspects.

“This victim was under the impression he was helping someone," said Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. "But for his act of kindness, he was being set up for robbery and assault.”

The victim had agreed to give one suspect, 25-year-old Kayla Beason, a ride to Orangeburg. During the drive she made an excuse to go back to his house, where the other two suspects were waiting.

He suffered several injuries during the attack, but declined medical treatment.

Beason, along with 19-year-old Quachelle Ihenetu, were previously arrested and charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, grand larceny and criminal conspiracy. Ihenetu was also charged with kidnapping and accessory before the fact of a felony.

A third suspect, 35-year-old Kenneth Gregg was recently charged. Those charges include two counts of first-degree burglary, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Bond was set at $17,500 for Beason on April 26, and $22,000 for Ihenetu last week. Gregg's bond was deferred to circuit court judge.

Deputies say more arrests are expected in this case.
