Columbia, SC (WLTX) – In second grade, most children practice the skills learned in earlier grades and begin to use them with ease.
Writing and reading are both important factors in the development of a child, but so is nurturing their creativity.
Mrs. Joanne Anderson has been teaching second grade at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia for 15 years. Her passion for learning is contagious and so are the smiles that fill her classroom.
“She always makes sure that everything is going alright,” said Harper, second grade student. “When everyone’s not feeling 100% she makes them feel better.”
Mrs. Anderson’s dedication and unfailing love for her students doesn't go unnoticed.
“We greet everyone, good morning friends,” said Anderson. “We just put a positive spin on the beginning of the day.”
Her students are engaged and eager to learn, because of the example their teacher has set.
