Columbia, SC (WLTX) — High pressure anchored off the Southeast coast will continue to pump tropical moisture into the Midlands. It will be hot and humid again Sunday.
A few showers and storms moved through the area Saturday. High temperatures were in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
An upper-level disturbance will be passing by to the north on Sunday. This will produce more showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoons.
The disturbance will pass and the chance for rain will diminish into Tuesday. There will be more sunshine and humidity which will make it feel hotter. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the low to mid 90s with the heat index above 100 degrees.
A cold front will be passing through the Midlands on Wednesday which will result in scattered showers and thunderstorms. The front will be along the coast on Thursday where much of the rain will be. Some of the moisture will return inland on Friday giving the Midlands another chance for thunderstorms.
