Two transported to hospital after plane crash in Sumter

According to the Sumter Fire Department, a small plane carrying two people crashed around 10:37 a.m. on Saturday.

SUMTER, S.C. — The Sumter Fire Department responded to a small plane crash Saturday morning. 

According to the department, a small plane carrying two people crashed around 10:37 a.m. on Saturday.

The crash happened near HWY 15 N and HWY 401 in Sumter, where Sumter Fire, EMS and the Sumter Sheriff's Dept. responded. 

The plane was a Piper PA-31 twin engine plane, and the two passengers were transported to Prisma Sumter. Their condition is not known at this time.
