Powerball ticket for May 6 drawing worth $100,000 sold in Sumter, SC

Winning ticket sold at a convenience store on US Hwy 15 in Sumter

SUMTER, S.C. — A Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold at the Young's Food Store near the intersection of Hwy 15 and Nettles Road, in the Lakewood/Privateer neighborhoods of Sumter, SC, over the weekend.

The ticket with PowerPlay matched numbers from Saturday's May 6 drawing:

More than 12,000 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $4 up to $100,000. More than 4,000 players spent the extra dollar on PowerPlay® to have their qualified winnings multiplied by “2” when claimed.

Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129.

The estimated jackpot for Monday night’s drawing is $97 million.
