COLUMBIA, S.C. — A road was closed for almost two hours Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a pole. Now that driver is facing charges.
Jamal Austin Gleaton, 20, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Columbia police say Gleaton crashed his car into a utility pole on the 3100 block of River Drive around 4:30 a.m. The pole sustained some damage, which caused the road to be closed.
SCE&G were called to the scene for repairs, and the road was reopened around 6 a.m.
No injuries have been reported.
