Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A Columbia jury has convicted two men of killing a mother of four last year at the place where she worked.

The jury found Trenton Barnes and Lorenzo Young guilty of murder, kidnapping, second-degree burglary, and attempted armed robbery in the death of Kelly Hunnewell. The jury deliberated for just under three hours.

Young was then sentenced to life in prison without parole on the murder charge. He also got 15 years for the burglary charge and 20 years for attempted robbery. Barnes will be sentenced next Tuesday.

Barnes and Young were accused of breaking into the bakery where Kelly Hunnewell was working on July 1st, 2013 in an attempted robbery. During the crime, Hunnewell was fatally shot.

During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence including a jailhouse letter written by Barnes to his mother where he confessed to the crime. They also played surveillance video showing the crime.

During closing statements, defense attorneys argued there is no DNA evidence in the case and have told the jurors that prosecution had not proven their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
