COLUMBIA, S.C. — The tornado watch for the Midlands was cancelled during the evening hours of Sunday, and the tornado watch for the coast was cancelled late Sunday evening.
Late Sunday night, tornado watch was issued for parts of the Upstate. The watch included: Cherokee, Chester, Laurens, Spartanburg, Union and York counties. The watch will continue until 5 AM Monday.
There were a few strong storms Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening across the Midlands. A couple of tornado warnings were issued for Kershaw County, but there have not been any damage reports.
There will still be a chance for a few showers and storms overnight, but the risk of severe weather in the Midlands is low.
Monday will be sunny, breezy and cooler. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
