According to CBS News New York, the blow was so hard, Szabo fell backwards and hit his head on the concrete.

The family said Szabo was waiting on a ride to take him to the hotel and was knocking on car windows. Szabo apparently knocked on Jones' window and police say Jones got out of the vehicle and punched Szabo.

After he punched Szabo, police say Jones got into an SUV and drove away leaving the man on the pavement.

NYPD issued a Crime Stoppers alert to help find Jones who later turned himself in with an attorney.

Wake Forest University officials tell WFMY News 2 they will release a statement later this evening.
