Woman Involved in Serial Killer Case Paroled

Susanne Owens, who authorities say hired notorious serial killer Pee Wee Gaskins to kill a man, has been paroled.

(Columbia) - A woman convicted of hiring one of America's most notorious serial killers has been paroled.Susanne Owens, 60, was conditionally released from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.Owens pleaded guilty to hiring Donald "Pee Wee" Gaskins to kill her ex-boyfriend back in 1975. Owens was released on a conditional parole. She did escape once, back in 1993. Gaskins is one of the most notorious serial killers in American history, and is believed to have committed many of his crimes in South Carolina. In a book about his crimes, Gaskins claimed he killed around 200 people, although law enforcement has never been able to find enough evidence to connect him to that many crimes. He was executed in 1991.
