On offense, he could be counted on for a big run out of the Spring Valley option attack. On defense, Anthony Wilson was a solid performer in the secondary.

The Shrine Bowl selection was named Mr. Richland County High School Football Player of the Year. The former Wofford pledge says he will now take his talents to Georgia Southern.

This is the second year of the award and the second time a Spring Valley Viking has won it. Last year, current Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall was named the best high school football player in Richland County.

The other finalists for the award were Eau Claire’s Ron Davis Jr., Ben Lippen’s Ryan Fleming, Blythewood’s Patrick Godbolt and Columbia’s Thomas Green.
