The Lander men's basketball is battling UNC Pembroke for the top spot of the Peach Belt Conference.
One of the Bearcats major contributors is Blythewood native Tyler Brevard who played at Gray Collegiate Academy. Brevard has had stops at Spartanburg Methodist and Erskine. His third stop has been the charm as he is averaging 12.2 points per game for Lander.
The Lander women are currently leading the PBC and Sumter's Jessica Harris is not letting up in this, her senior season.
As a junior, Harris was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year. This year, she is averaging 15.6 points per game for the Bearcats.
