Bryson Nimmer wasted little time in turning pro

Former Clemson golfer is the reigning ACC Player of the Year

Clemson's golf season ended May 27 with a playoff loss in the NCAA Championship to SMU. The Tigers just missed out on advancing to the Match Play portion, but senior Bryson Nimmer didn't spend a lot of time dwelling on what could have been.

While he was disappointed the Tigers would not be competing for a national championship, Nimmer quickly found an outlet in his first event as a professional. Nimmer teed it up a couple of days later across the border in British Columbia. Nimmer's debut came in the Bayview Place DCBank Open, part of the PGA Canadian Tour or what is also known as the Mackensie Tour.

Nimmer is back in the United States and the Palmetto State for that matter. The Hilton Head native will make his debut on the Web.com Tour in the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation.

"I think it's really cool and obviously I'm just grateful for the opportunity to be out here," Nimmer said.

"Obviously, Thornblade, I've played a few times. Just to be able to be somewhere where I'm kind of comfortable and somewhere good to start at, I guess."

The Thornblade Club and The Cliffs Valley are the two courses who are hosting the event.
