Former Cardinal Newman standout Brandon Martin is one of five signees for first-year USC-Upstate head basketball coach Dave Dickerson.
The son of USC head basketball coach Frank Martin, Brandon averaged nearly 14 points and 10 rebounds per game in his senior season with the Cardinals. He was a three-time All-Region selection and earned All-State honors twice. He spent last year playing at St. Thomas More School, a college preparatory school in Connecticut.
At Cardinal Newman, Martin made both the Principal and Deans List while serving as a member of the National Honor Society and earning the Leadership Program and Service Hours Awards.
He could very well be back in Columbia this season as USC-Upstate will play USC in Columbia according to a recent report by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
