Chapin Has New Challenges In 2018

The Chapin Eagles are at the ceiling in terms of how far they can move up in classification.

Chapin head coach Justin Genty will kick off his 25th year of coaching this fall. That means he has been a coach for 25 first days of preseason practice and he says there is something special about day one.

"It never gets old," said Genty.

"It's like Christmas Eve and Christmas morning all over again every year."

After going 7-5 in 2017, the Eagles are moving up from Class 4A to 5A. Gentry says his guys will be ready.

"We love challenges," Gentry said.

"We love and embrace challenges. It started years ago when we went to 3A and then obviously we went to 4A. Now we're in 5A. It's just one more hurdle we have to cross to be successful here at Chapin."
