One of the most successful coaches in the state of South Carolina is calling it a career.

Lower Richland High's Debbie Stroman Wardlaw announced on Twitter she was retiring.

She transitioned to administration in 2016 after nearly 25 years as the girls head basketball coach at Lower Richland. During that time courtside, she won seven state titles including four straight championships from 2006 to 2009.

With nearly 500 wins, Wardlaw was named the school's athletics director in 2016.

After three years overseeing the Diamond Hornets athletic program, Wardlaw is stepping down. Here's a video of the announcement from Twitter.

In 2015, Wardlaw was inducted into the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
