Dustin Curtis comes home

New A.C. Flora head football coach is excited to be back in the Forest Acres area

Dustin Curtis was busy Thursday afternoon meeting with his new team at A.C. Flora.

Curtis is no stranger to the Forest Acres area as he has been a longtime resident there. It was a short drive to the school when he was an assistant for seven years there before taking over the Westwood football program. He has now returned to A.C. Flora with three years of head coaching experience.

"I think my new athletic director probably said it best. He said you're not ready to be a head coach until you've had been a head coach for three years and I certainly feel that now," Curtis said.

"I'm excited to be back. Certainly learned a lot, had a great administration at Westwood and I'm extremely blessed. still, that they gave me the opportunity. But this community is where I live. It's where I call home and I'm excited to get going."

Curtis replaces Collin Drafts who stepped down after two seasons to take a head coaching job near Jacksonville, Florida.
