When Spring Valley held its induction ceremonies for its 2019 Hall of Fame class in the fall, Andre Roberts and Willie Williams were busy with their full-time jobs. Roberts is a receiver and kick returner for the Buffalo Bills, while Williams is a high school coach in Potomac, Maryland.
But on this Super Bowl week, Roberts and Williams were at Spring Valley High School Friday night where they were recognized during halftime of the boys game with Irmo.
While at Spring Valley, Roberts played football and won a state championship in track and field. He went on to a record-setting career at The Citadel which has led him to the NFL where he just wrapped up his 10th season. A First Team All-Pro selection in 2018 as a kick returner, Roberts has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons.
Williams won a state title in football and track and field in his senior season. He went on to star at Western Carolina and enjoyed a 13-year NFL career as a defensive back. Even though he wasn't active for Super Bowl XL in 2006, Williams was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and has a Super Bowl ring after the Steelers defeated Seattle. That's how his career ended as he retired. He is currently a high school coach in Potomac, Maryland.
