NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — One day before the national championship, the city of New Orleans has seen an increase of LSU and Clemson fans walking the streets of The Big Easy and a popular destination is the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center which is hosting Playoff Fan Central. The fan fest features interactive games, official merchandise for purchase and for those who want to enhance their experience, the College Football Hall of Fame has an exhibit that will do just that.
Inside the convention center, the Atlanta-based organization has a display set up that will appeal to fans of both teams. Special artifacts are on display from the Clemson perspective including Trevor Lawrence's game worn jersey, Ben Boulware's cleats and Dabo Swinney's game-worn coaching shirt.
Jeremy Swick, the College Football Hall of Fame’s historian, says not only are there items that will appeal to Clemson and LSU fans but because the game is being held in New Orleans, items from Louisiana schools Louisiana Tech, Southern University and Grambling State University.
In 2021, when the national championship game is held in at the home of the Miami Dolphins, the College Football Hall of Fame will have items from the two national championship teams plus Florida universities in an effort to showcase the accomplishments of colleges and universities in the Sunshine State.
For those who didn't make the trip to New Orleans and may not go to South Beach, the College Football Hall of Fame headquarters in Atlanta offers fans a chance to enhance their love and appreciation for the sport through interactive games and items of historical significance.
