Former Keenan Raider Commits to SC State

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — In college basketball news former Kennan standout Tariq Simmons will return to the Palmetto State to play for Murray Garvin and the SC State Bulldogs.

The former News 19 Player of the week signed with the Bulldogs this week. This past season he made 26 starts in NJCC for Panola College in Texas and averaged 11.6 points per game. 

Coming out of Keenan Tariq committed to the Citadel and decided to transfer after one season where he averaged about seven points per game.

The junior guard comes back to Division 1 basketball in his home state and the sharp shooter will be a welcomed addition in Orangeburg as Coach Garvin reloads the roster after tough season where they suffered a number of losses by three points or less.
