Gamecocks Get Settled In At Baum Stadium

The USC baseball team hopes to extend its remarkable turnaround with at least two solid performances in Fayetteville.

USC know Arkansas.

Arkansas knows USC.

So the question is what adjustments will be made not only from the regular season to the SEC Tournament but from game to game or even inning to inning?

The chess match between Mark Kingston and Dave Van Horn will be a high-stakes affair with both teams knowing two wins will take them to the hallowed ground that is Omaha.

But head coach Mark Kingston says his team will treat is as just another game with the same preparation and the same approach.

"We've had some ups and downs through the course of the year," Kingston said.

"But this is a good group of student-athletes and to see them play with a chance to get to Omaha, I'm really, really happy for them.

"You'll see guys playing different positions this time of year. You'll see a team that is more confident. You'll see a team that is accomplished and has won a lot of big games along the way. We're a better team in any area that you can be evaluated in right now. So, that's why I think this will be a great series. We're loose, we're competitive, but we're focused and that what any team at this point that's trying to get to Omaha needs to be. Loose, competitive, but very focused and that's where we are."
