One day after USC's win over UCONN, two players have been honored by the SEC.
Tyasha Harris is the SEC Player of the Week after she averaged 14.0 points and eight assists in wins over Arkansas and UCONN. Against the fifth-ranked Huskies, Harris recorded her 10th career double-double with a 19-point, 11-assist effort.
Aliyah Boston is the SEC Freshman of the Week after she posted double-doubles in those two wins. She averaged 15.5 points and 13.5 rebounds against the Hogs and Huskies.
Against No. 5/6 UConn, Boston pulled in nine of her 12 rebounds in the first quarter as the Gamecock defense, which included her two blocks and two steals, allowed just two points on 1-of-16 shooting in the opening period. Boston added 13 points in Monday's win.
Harris and Boston are also among the 30 players named to the 2020 Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year Midseason Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Monday. Harris was on the award's preseason list the last two seasons but is making her debut on the midseason team as is the freshman Boston.
Harris is on every national player of the year midseason list as well as among the final 10 for the Nancy Lieberman Award and the top 15 for the Dawn Staley Award.
