The 19th-ranked South Carolina softball swept its opening day doubleheader in the Carolina Classic.

The Gamecocks opened 2020 with wins over Ohio State and North Dakota State on Friday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. 

The Gamecocks opened the day with a 3-2 win over the Buckeyes before closing it with a 4-2 victory against the Bison.

Kelsey Oh (1-0) recorded eight strikeouts and went the distance in the first game to earn the victory while Cayla Drotar (1-0) matched the performance to earn the win against North Dakota State. The Hartsville product had four strikeouts on the mound and she also hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give the Gamecocks a 4-1 lead over NDSU.
