NORTH AUGUSTA, SC — The decision has been made. Gray Collegiate's top player, Juwan Gary, has committed to Alabama.
NC State, Clemson, Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia Tech were his Top 5 this Spring.
Juwan was originally going to announce his decision on his mother's birthday in November but after thinking it over it came down to Alabama or South Carolina and he made the decision today while competing at the legendary Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta.
The rising senior said he feels he fits in Alabama's style of play and the fact that head coach Avery Johnson played in the NBA for over decade was also a big factor in his decision.
Former Dreher standout Tevin Mack transferred from Texas to Alabama and will be in the fold next year as well. Juwan said his goal is to be a one-and-done but if he comes back for his sophomore year to Midlands products will be playing for Avery Johnson in the SEC.
Juwan is coming off a junior year where he led the War Eagles to their first 2A State Championship.
